Massage Modalities
  1. Classic Massage (Swedish)
    Classic massage consists of effleurage, petrissage, tapotement, cross-fiber friction, and vibration techniques. These five basic strokes have been shown to be helpful in reducing pain and improving body function.
  2. Deep Tissue
    Deep tissue is a heavier handed massage compared to the standard classic massage. The heavier pressure is beneficial in releasing chronic muscle tension in the deepest layers of muscle tissue.
  3. Sports Massage
    Sports massage is excellent for many issues such as sports and repetitive stress injuries. Reduces muscle tension and discomfort with range of motion, trigger point, and stretching therapies.
  4. Aromatherapy
    Aromatherapy is the use of essential oils through inhalation and topical use. Together we make your custom aromatic blend to suit you and your bodies needs. Applying the blend into massage oil for a 60-minute classic massage. (Only offered in a 90-minute session)
  5. Hot Stone
    Hot Stone massage is a luxurious muscle warming massage meant to help you deeply relax. Using smooth basalt stones heated to 125 degrees to melt away stress and tension. (Only offered in a 90-minute session)
  6. Prenatal
    Prenatal massage is for our expecting mothers past 14 weeks. Massage during your 2nd and 3rd trimester to help lower anxiety, decrease back and leg pain, improve sleep, and decrease the stress hormone norepinephrine. We do ask that you get a recommendation from your Prenatal care physician before starting any wellness program.
  7. Reflexology
    Reflexology is the use of trigger points on the feet. In Eastern traditions it is believed to correspond to different body organs and systems, and that pressing them has a beneficial effect on the organs and person's general health
  8. Shiatsu
    Shiatsu is a form of Japanese bodywork based on framework of traditional chinese medicine. In the Japenese language, "Shiatsu" means finger pressure. Using fingers, thumbs and palms through a network of meridians in the body to release Ki energy.
  9. Reiki/Crystal Therapy
    These therapies deal with spiritually guided life force energy. Reiki is a Japanese technique adminstered by the laying of hands on a client with the idea that unseen life force energy flows through practitioner to client. Crystal therapy is an added bonus to Reiki. It is said that crystals and precious stones have specific properties that facilitate healing.
